Homemaker / Home Aide & Respite Programs
This program is for Veterans who need personal care services and help with activities of daily living. Examples include help with bathing, dressing, or fixing meals. This program is also for Veterans who are isolated, or their caregiver is experiencing burden. An aide may be able to come to your house several times a week or just once in a while.
How to get the Services
Homemaker Home Health Aide services are part of a service within the VHA Standard Medical Benefits Package, enrolled Veterans are eligible if they meet the clinical need for the service. The first step is checking your eligibility for a Homemaker Home Health Aide is to contact your nearest VA facility and ask to be connected to a social worker.

Examples of daily activities you may
be able to receive help with include:

- Self-Administration of Medications
- Bed to Chair Transfers
- Bathing, Grooming, and Dressing
- Meal Preparation / Special Diet Meals
- Eating and / or Feeding
- Toilet and / or Commode Needs
- Provide Routine Skin Care
- Housekeeping and Laundry Service
- Running Errands and Shopping
- Provide Companionship and Much More…
